To see the Ex or to not see the Ex

Recently a friend of mine came to "visit" me. That is to say, his ex from a few years back happened to be in my town, and he came to see her.

Ordinarily, I would have no objections. I still see one of my exes -- we've remained good friends after an initial moment of silence (what else but to mourn the death of our dating life). But this one takes the cake.

HE'S ENGAGED! That's right folks. The "woman of his dreams" has moved in with him and the two will wed in a year's time. The fiancè did object to the visit, but he did it anyway. The last minute airfare was not cheap.

The result of their visit? He was still madly in love with her. In fact, they "picked up right where it was left off" more than five years ago. To wit, I must question how much he loves his financè and why is he not with this other girl?

Relationships are very confusing. The head wants one thing and heart wants what it wants.
